Ah yes! J3... well that proves my thoughts then...Chris5156 wrote:Guessing that you are on about the M1 extension at Leeds, it opened in 1999. (Have a look at any Motorway Database page for opening dates.)Steven wrote:I presume from the next bit that you're talking about the new bit of the M1 past Garforth - this one needs a bit of care as the A14 (nee A604) was also billed as A1/M1 Link Road at around the same time.True Yorkie wrote:didn't the A1/M1 link road open in the 1990's??
Before it opened the M1 went into central Leeds, terminating at what is now M621 J3. It didn't end on the M621 as such; there wasn't full access between the two motorways. They just both terminated at the same point and dumped all their traffic onto Dewsbury Road.
Whenever i am on the westbound M621 i get 2 j3 and traffic on the M621 ends up merging with traffic from the dewsbury road, so I had been thinking if the section from the dewsbury road was newer, and never used to be there.... and it seems my thoughts were right!

A991/Dundee Inner Ring Road/Marketgait becomes full loop with completion of section from Victoria Road to the Circle at the East Port.
Haven't a clue what year the Tunnel was completed though, may have been '96 if the publication of this report is anything to go by
