The ticket machine only sells in blocks of one hour. If you buy 2 hours at 4pm it shows expiry of 6pm.

But regarding the sign, a common restriction is during working hours only, for permit or public parking for payment, no controls outside. This one relies on absorbing that the extra bit at the bottom is more restrictive, no public parking at all out of hours.

I had my suspicions of a spelling mistake when I went past this sign the other day and it clearly is wrong. The sign on the other side is correct.

I always like the "POLICE SLOW" signs - useful advice for the police but allows non-police drivers to continue as usual. Or maybe a comment about the speed of police investigations.

A39 at Otterham Station (between Bude and Camelford). This sign has been repaired, very well. Only trouble is the right turn is signed to B3262 (A305). B3262 is correct, but A305 should be A395. Does anyone check stuff like this, does anyone care?

Probably not, since the directions on the sign are only of benefit to traffic which has joined the A39 from the unclassified road half a mile south - any other traffic looking for Launceston would have turned at an earlier junction.
It's pretty pointless having a sign that size on that approach to the junction. "Hallworthy B3262" on a basic arrow direction sign would be sufficient.

This "FOODSTORE" flag sign is one I keep expecting to disappear as the rest of the (correct) roundabout signage and 40mph limit to the north are worn out. It keeps hanging in there though.

I tried to snap that in Feb but missed it.

It's using the temporary junction arrows so yes, it is wrong.

Similarly, a sign at the start of some roadworks saying "SLOW WORKFORCE IN ROAD" always made me chuckle.

I'd like to nominate the Your Speed sign in Langham on the A606. Not only is it placed sufficiently close to a sharp bend that all but the most homicidal will have slowed down to well below the 30 limit, but it's been installed so that the units digit of the speed is displayed flipped left-to-right: I wondered what a speed of 2A meant until I worked out it was a backwards 4.

(While I'm thinking about these, is there a rule about whether doing exactly the speed limit is good or bad? I'm used to seeing 30 or 40 with the smiley face, but the one in Abington on the northbound A1307 frowns at 40 and only smiles at 39.)

I saw this yesterday, coming off the A720 at the Baberton junction. Any reason to have a "two-way traffic ahead on crossing ahead" sign on all THREE of the flag signs (plus an advanced warning sign 70 yards from the end of the sliproad)?
