THE NORTH motorway sign???

Post by captainroads »

hi there!

Has anyone got a decent photo of a blue motorway sign with the words "The North" on? it's to go on a t-shirt and i can't find one anywhere.

I did see a sign the other day on the M1 as I left the sliproad at Tibshelf services to go back on the motorway. It was just what i was looking for - a blue sign that said "M1 THE NORTH". I thought about pulling on to the hard shoulder and taking a picture of it but I thought the police might pull up!! so i didn't!!!

If not does anyone have a standard blue and white motorway roadsign picture, which is blank that i can do a photoshop job on? Like I say, it's for a t-shirt but I can't find anything!

Thanks in advcance for any help!!!!!

You misread me...I am expressing amusement at the 'Now Fully open' sign being around for 11 years.

The galleries here are good for that sort of thing too. I've been collecting NORTH WEST signs for a prospective video project for one of my friend's songs (he doesn't know about it yet!).

I got a few good images there - give it a go if what Nicholas has posted isn't to your taste.

Edit: Nicholas's post was above mine when I started this and now he's removed it and reposted so it's below mine - please don't think I'm a mind reader!

Will this do you?

EDIT: In response to Serena's post above, my original posting was incorrect as "THE NORTH" was in the wrong format (I put "The North" instead)

Thanks for all the replies.

What I want is a sign that has the words

The NORTH (rather than THE NORTH)

on a blue motorway sign

with the motorway symbol.

Derek - how did you make your sign??

Yeah thanks Derek for taking to time to make that. That's not bad.

Do you reckon the rozzers would pull me over if I pulled up onto the hard shoulder after Tibshelf and took a photo of the sign that i saw?

Yes, because it's not an emergency.

You could legally park at Tibshelf and then walk over to the sign. You're not breaking the law by walking on a motorway until you pass the sign as it indicates the start of restrictions.

None of the above have the correct motorway "chopsticks" sign for the UK. The bridge part has curves on it. See my (current) avatar.

@captainroads.

I can draw you one on KeySIGN later on and post it on here if you like. Do you want the chopsticks beside the wording or underneath?
