I somehow don't think that the Highways Agency will be called on to build any of these in the UK

Quote:
How did the elephant cross the road? Underneath it

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — How did the elephants cross the road? They went underneath it.

Dusk had settled on Mount Kenya's forested slopes, and traffic had slowed to a trickle on the region's major highway. That's when three elephants crossed through Africa's first dedicated elephant underpass — a new solution to the increasing problem of animal-human conflict in Africa.

Stop sitting up in your ivory tower, being disparaging towards others' jokes.

They work too, I can't remember the last time I had to stop for an elephant...

About time. Zebras have had crossings for years.

And pelicans too, now I come to think of it.

And Toucans

It's typical of this country though, we build crossings for birds at grade.

Both of these are odd, given they can fly. Next you'll be telling me that mythical winged horses have their our crossings...

I guess our removal of Panda crossings is why they are so endangered now!
