Well, it most definately is one of the stations on the Barnstaple & Lynton Railway - the architecture gives it away. Whereabouts on there I cannot say...

Why was I so excited to see an Audi A4 on the A4?

You have! You’re talking about this. It’s smaller than the station in the picture though and then you have the trees. Actually, this one was my initial thought for a few seconds. Isn't it 'Killintgton Lane' or something along those lines? Or am I thinking of another station? I know one has that name.

This screams Exmoor to me (or at least very close) and I’m struggling to picture where this is. I can’t make it three in a row, sorry Halstead! You may have got me on this one. You don’t happen to have a picture of the road it’s on by any chance? I’ll probably be kicking myself when you reveal the answer, that red signal in the foreground and the buildings on the far right with the light green rooves look annoyingly familiar...

I hate to say this but I haven't a picture of the road itself. Anyhow here's another clue, the road behind me is a TOTSO.
Here's the photo again.

Sorry to barge in - but no it isn't. I won't say anymore as it'll more than likely give it away, assuming nobody's got before reading this!

I have no idea where it is other than it's possibly ex-GWR given the lower quadrant signal.

Blackmoor Gate Station :P

That small ditch has helped a little.

Yes it is Blackmoor Gate station. What I meant earlier on was that travelling twice you have to turn off twice to stay on the A39 as the A399 is the priority road as shown on this extract.

Basically it is a very short multiplex at Blackmoor Gate - a simple staggered crossroads.

Actually, the L&BR was independent, but in part owned by the LSWR then Southern.

Blackmoor Gate - I knew I’d seen it. I pass there at least a couple of times on my yearly holidays, usually to and from Lynton/Lynmouth  . I’ll be cursing that place when I pass through there next! Chris even mentioned Blackmoor Gate earlier and it never even twigged then, either  . I kept on thinking about that car park with toilets (which I stopped at twice last year to see some vintage Rolls Royce’s parked up - owned by Americans too) and the staggered crossroads! I never even thought about what else was there.

When you said a TOTSO Halstead, the only one which sprung to mind in that area is on the A3123 and I knew for sure this picture wasn’t taken there. I was left confused then!

Haha I've been down there a few times and on the last one my dad went up the wrong road bound for wheel lane. Luckily I warned him and he u-turned on that minor road with the downhill gradient.
Quite strangely there are some junctions on the A39 further east that either TOTSO or give priority to other roads like the A39. Also on the A3123 further west it has to give way to a B road here which on the road look slighty distinguishable.

It should also be pointed out that Lynton Cross (the name of the A3123/B3230 junction) is one of north Devon's most dangerous road junctions. There is very little advance warning of the junction, especially on the A3123 which is odd as most people wouldn't expect to give way to the B3230. It also suffers very badly from fog which is extremely dangerous as visibility isn't great at the best of times.

In Ilfracombe, if you haven't had an accident there, you know someone who has. I honestly can't remember a week going by without some sort of incident up there.

It looks like from an overbridge of an MSA, I'd guess at Fleet.

You're at 51°17'45.0"N, 0°51'20.7"W on the M3 looking east:

Thanks.

And, of course, I meant looking WEST.

Of course, the exact same view has starred in a previous quiz.

I was too slow this time, though. :)
