It's either been flipped or it's in northern France or Belgium looking at the landscape.

So is the car park a part of an aire de repos in France?

It's the Aire du "La Baie de Somme" on the A16 near Abbeville. I knew the landscape looked familiar and as we were in that area a few weeks back I just had a quick look down the A16 around there.

It is indeed. It was very pleasant there- better than most services in this country.

New one now...

I don't actually know where this is so you'll have to confer between yourselves.

EDIT: Now remembered why I took the picture, and where it might be. Guess away.

Looks like some sort of stand/stadium in the background.

I think it's here The building on the right-hand side of your photo has had major rebuilding done, which can be seen from the Google streetview taken from the other side of the dual carriageway. The next junction south has the matching blue sign to the photo which presumably has been lost from this junction for some reason - it applies equally to both.

EDIT: I think the apparent stand/stadium is part of the scaffolding from a point when they were rebuilding only the far side of the hotel. There's nothing else in the vicinity it could be that I can see.

I think you're right. Atleast that's the same conclusion I reached.

The big clue (which I didn't post before to avoid the spoiler) is the sign which I'm fairly sure reads "No through road to Cricklewood Lane", and that narrows it down to only two junctions.

Why did you take the photo, as a matter of interest?
