I do like the Stop/Go hand-rotated board at the start of the brochure, which at an inclusive price of 5/10/0 includes a "Solid Metal Unbreakable Main Bearing", and then further down the page in the list of spares there's "Replacement Solid Metal Bearings" at 17/6 each ..... !

Presumably even in those days there were site operatives who proved that 'foolproof' was not the same as 'idiotproof'.

Never seen a stop go board with a lamp on top. Do they no longer allow them to be used at night?

You can still use a Stop/Go board at night, it just needs the face to be illuminated.
