Given that the Washes are designed to flood every winter, the whole point of building the two Bedford Rivers, then surely the road crossing it, the A1101, should have been build at a higher level - on a causeway with large multiple drainage channels to prevent water being stacked up on one side.roadtester wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 10:40 The A1101 at Welney Wash on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border is often closed due to flooding. This is a feature not a bug - Welney Wash is designed to flood as part of the management of water levels in Fens, which means that the road is blocked regularly, necessitating significant diversions. Apparently it was closed for 86 days recently.

SABRE Maps - all the best maps in one place....
From the SABRE Wiki: B1025 :
The B1025 is another of the Essex B-roads connecting the coast with somewhere more important.
The B1025 starts on a roundabout with the A134 next to Colchester Town station. It leaves town to the south, passing through Monkwick before passing into rural surroundings.
