If you think a new motorway is in need of building more than any other, vote in this poll. If you can't single one out, vote 'Unsure'. Note: this does not include government schemes.

I went for "other upgrade" because I wqasn't sure if it was the correct option.
For me, the most VITAL part of the motorway network missing is the A556 between the M6 and M56

This seems to have ended before I had a chance to vote (I've been in Ionia), but I would have voted for the West Mids Orbital.

Is there a period after which you cannot poll? I definitely haven't voted on this one, but it won't let me?

A64 upgrade for me :D

I've just had a peek. It was set up as a 7 day poll

I'd definitely have gone for the A14, although the A34 is another one that could really use it - both being major long distance and freight routes.

Yep the A14 should be upgraded to motorway standard, either as A14(M) or M14. The A14 is dreadful around Cambridge.

The M11 should also be extended in both directions, so we get a J1-J3 and then the other end should be extended to the A1 at Alconbury

If the A14 was upgraded to Motorway it should be renumbered M6, along with that Scottish road, to give us an ultra long M6 going all the way to Glasgow.

A14 Huntingdon to Cambridge. For me it's a no-brainer - it is simply jammed at all times of the day. Apart from rush hours - when it becomes an immobile vehicular sardine can.

And A14 near Kettering. A D2 catering for A6, A43 and main A14 traffic is very congested. Reduce capacity by adding extra lanes. There may have to be some off line improvements as new houses have been build right up to the A14, whereas in the 1990's when it was built, they were just fields.

M58 Extension

Have you tried to get from Skem to the Reebock at anytime? it's Murder! i know that Wigan MBC have submitted plans to build a new road along to Leigh, but this isn't enough! It is very, very hard to get from Switch Island to Bolton. Many go along the M62 and then up the M61 but this is by far the longer way round.

Give us the M58 to Bolton!

I would have said South Coast, but I think the poll has closed.

Ive always thought of turning the A205 and A406 into a motorway. Change the road numbers to M205 and M406. Doesnt have to be big, 2 lanes either way. Join the 2 roads up in East London with the proposed gateway bridge. Then we have the "London Peripherique"

Whilst thats done, extend the M23 so it reaches the new M205

Like M15, also known as Ringway 2?
