I couldn't find a thread to fit this one, so I've started one (mods please move it you find something more suitable).

Now I have means to finally download from my video camera, there's no stopping me with the musical road videos (thanx for the idea, Bryn!).

So here's my second effort - the A537 Cat & Fiddle.

Let me know what you think!

Great video, recognise parts of that road from Traffic Cops and the like. :P

Nice one Serena. Cat and fiddle is one of my favourite roads. My daughter lives in Macc so I use this route often when we go the "pretty route".

I've driven it many times, ploughed it a couple of times, been for material on it numerous times, and drunk/ate in the C & F on a number of occasions, never get fed up of it :D

Did the prat that ovetook you just after the C & F make it to Buxton just two cars before you?

I think it is brilliant. Do you mind if I link to it from Rural Roads?

Many thanks,

Simon

Hang on, we drive on the 'proper' side of the road, here!

Anyway, excellent video Sabrista, well done! I used to this sort of thing when I was little whenever we went on holiday. I still have about half of my own recordings on video cassette to this day which must go back about 15 years! Watching your video brought back some happy memories!

I used to use the A537 fairly regularly when I was little on trips to Buxton and the various caverns in the area, so I recognised a lot of the road from that video. Sadly, I haven't used it for at least 18 months now (probably a little more than that) and it seems the plague of yellow backed signs has grown further. Still, an excellent road!

I know the road fairly well - the lack of any sort of protection against falling off the edge can be daunting at times! Good to see the C+F is still well populated by bikers!

You'll have to get another video of the road in the snow - that's when it really becomes interesting along there!

Call me thick, but I presume the video is going at about 1.5x real-time?

If I hadn't sped up the C&F it would have been over 15 minutes long!

As for the Grane Road one, speeding that up made it fit the song exactly.

Not whingeing, but if I was the second cyclist overtaken in that video the driver would have got a mouthful of abuse. With no solid white line and no oncoming traffic there's no need to pass a bike that close.
