Views of both directions from the same spot. Answers can be just posted and if it proves tricky I will give clues.

New Forest area? Looks extremely familiar to me - I just can't place it.

My first thought was the southwestern end of the New Forest, but it's not an area I know particularly well.

Not the New Forest although it does look like it. The geography on view is not particularly typical of the county in question. If I turned the camera to the side of the road it would become more obvious.

To me it looks like the Old Farleigh Road area south of Selsdon but I'm unsure due to your last clue, unless you're referencing a motorway.

Surrey is "colder" than Hampshire. Both have a fair bit of low heathland. There is not that much of such in the county of my photos.

Is there a beach nearby?

Chris.

Nearest beach is 3 miles by road.

I was thinking of the old A373 Seaton Road south of Honiton, but that's a lot further than 3 miles from the sea. I don't suppose I'm even close.

It doesn't particularly look like Somerset, but could be the Dorset Coast I suppose, B3070 or one of the 'military roads' east of Lulworth?

I can guarantee that it's not the old A373, the Lulworth area or the road to Holy Island. It could be Dorset, but I can't for the life of me think where. My other reaction was Exmoor, but there is a lot of land like that in Devon. Could possibly be Cornwall - there's not huge amounts of heathland there. Also, I might be reading a little too much into this, but we're 3 miles from the BEACH, not the coast - there could be a massive cliff face just out of shot!

Of course, after all that, it's more likely to be in Scotland. :P

It's the closest guess yet! This road is actually unclassified but the majority of it has enough width and sightlines that would disgrace many A roads. People tend to do 60 mph plus on it.

Your theory about not being too much of this land in Cornwall is the right one. Sorry! Another Cornwall holiday just returned from to bore you with. Their Tourist Board should pay me commission.

You're not alone. Next week I'll be having my third break in Cornwall in 9 weeks! Love it!
Is this it?

A winner! The feature at the side of the road is Goonhilly although that is closer from the B3293.

Only noticed the quiz today but would have got that straight away. Have spent three holidays in the last 4 years at The Parkdean site, Sea Acres at Kennack Signs, so know the road well. Lovely area and a nice quite hoilday park, with brilliant costal views
