OK, here is an interesting WAI:

Image

It has not been modified in any way.

I have a picture facing the other way in case of difficulty.

No rules apply.

Chris.

Good work - yes it is. That should narrow it down a bit

Not that I am aware of. The view is much the same. I will post a photo of the view in the opposite direction if more clues are needed.

Is that your Range Rover parked on the wrong side of the road?
No idea where the road is though!

I am indeed parked on the wrong side of the road, that is simply because I can.

In front of the Range Rover is a gate across the road....... I don't think it gets opened very often looking at the amount of debris and growth on the road......

Chris.

A gate? Hmm - wild stab in the dark, is it one of the access roads to Portmeirion?

Not Portmeirion, but you are in the right county.

Do you mean Caernarfonshire or Gwynedd? And if the latter, which version?

I'm not an expert on North Wales counties, but as far as I can tell, it is in Gwynedd (old, new and Kingdom of), and Caernarvonshire.

Well!, no takers!, I guess the street lights don't give the game away for a change.

Clue: The reason the road looks a bit overgrown is because it is not a through route. It was built to support some development that hasn't happened yet, and a few hundred yards on, it stops, is blocked by a pile of earth, and has never gone any further......

Clue: There is an 'A' road about 100meters left at the 'T' junction shown above.

Chris.

It's quite close to the A4086.

I had a look at Google Earth last weekend and thought it looked quite similar to the area NW of Llanberis at about SH571607, but I couldn't quite get a match.

That's correct. Just to the north of Llanberis there's a grandiose entrance to something called 'Glynrhonwy'
It used to be a slate quarry, then during the WW2 it was used as an underground bomb store with a connection to the railway. It supplied RAF Valley.
http://www.aditnow.co.uk/album/Glynrhon ... 3-09-2006/
Then derelict, in 2006 Gwynedd County Council identified the area as 'strategic development', and put in flat areas (for building on), and a road network.
The road network was clearly built to a good standard, with footpaths and streetlights.
However, the punters have clearly failed to arrive (apart from Siemens), hence the somewhat under-utilised nature of the road.
If one was to travel along the road (having passed the gate), after a couple of bends, there's a pile of dirt blocking your way. If you can get over that, after a short distance, the road terminates in more dirt, and has never gone any further!

Chris.
