Bideford Bypass: May 1982. Almost exactly 25 years before the Barnstaple Western Bypass opened.

Unsure about the Barnstaple-Bideford and Tiverton - M5 stretches. I think the latter was 1983, but I'll need to check on that.

A282 Dartford Tunnel (Second Bore) - 1980

This Was 1987 IIRC and opened at a similar time (certainly same year) to the A435 Evesham Eastern Bypass (Now A46).

Barnstaple to South Molton was most certainly not opened in October 1988! It was the last section to open, sometime in 1990, along with the A39 between Barnstaple and the Torridge Bridge.

I believe the road opened as follows. I know the sequence is correct but not entirely sure on dates.

A361 - M5 jnc 27 to Bolham Roundabout (A396 Tiverton). Opened sometime in 1983.

A39 - Bideford bypass including Torridge Bridge. Opened sometime in 1986/1987.

A361 - Bolham Roundabout (Tiverton) to Bish Mill (South Molton). Opened late (October?) 1988.

A361/A39 - Bish Mill to Torridge Bridge. Final section, opened early 1990.

1981 - A283 Steyning, Bramber and Upper Beeding Bypass
