Looks like we have a new road number on our hands, albeit an erroneous one at that :)

A new sign approaching M54 J7 shows the dodgy number. Unfortunately the imagery on Google Maps is too old to show it.

If the sign is at J7 rather than J6 it could well be a typo for just about anything. :?

The sign is at J6, not J7.

Here's a picture of the offending sign. The gantry heading west is unchanged and still proudly displays its motley collection of patched signs.
