Ancient petrol pump147 viewsNote the "Sorry, sold out" label. At 2s/3d (11.25p) a gallon (that's 2.5p / litre) I'm not surprised!
The adjacent pump dispensed a cheaper grade at 2s/1d

Illuminated chevrons92 viewsThere is a bend on the A828 near Appin that has a history of a series of serious accidents

Vehicle activated illuminated chevrons have now been installed there, these flash in sequence when a vehicle approaches. They seem to be solar powered.

First time that I have seen these but sure someone will say they have been around for years

156 viewsThe snow warning here is hidden behind the trees, but it repeats the same message of the previous signs. Notice how the "!" has been used from the "other danger" warning sign.Bryn666Upload to wiki

173 viewsA SNOW warning board on the A62. This example is pretty old, and gives a 2 mile warning of the limit of 'passable road' in wintry conditions. The traffic jam was caused by the driver of the Clio waiting to turn right. They were bemused by me photographing a sign outside of their house!Bryn666Upload to wiki

182 viewsThe first SNOW warning board on the A62, west of Oldham Town Centre, giving the status of various routes across the Pennines. There is a second board at the end of Oldham Way (not photographed).Bryn666Upload to wiki

Bollards.jpg
Bollard Overkill in Southampton203 viewsMore rubbish from Southampton City Council highways department. There are 6 bollards with segregated footway/cycleway signs, and 17 other bollards. What is their purpose, other than to clutter up the street and pose a hazard for cyclists?sotonsteveUpload to wiki
