New Lighting M2 J7199 viewsAfter years of the lighting hereabouts being well, sporadic, to say the least these smart new columns are now gracing J7. Although still operational at the moment the columns on the central reservation are due for imminent removal. The new lanterns have what I imagine are light directors on their undersides. Until now, the only other place I've seen these lanterns is on the A21 at Flimwell where they are mounted on similar, but more curvy, brackets. Are they an Iridium variant? The A2 can be seen heading west at the top of the picture, the A289 to the East is on the right and the A2, M2 heading East and South East respectively at the bottom. The CTRL can also be seen on the left.Yorkletts (wikified)

27 miles from anywhere380 viewsAlong the M2 (and M20) there are confirmatory signs for the four main Kent ports and it happens, along this stretch, that they are all the same distance away. This is just after the Faversham turn, junction 6, at TR018595.TS (wikified)
