Society: Events: 2009 Annual General Meeting Annual meet up and Annual General Meeting in Wolverhampton. Date: 25 April 2009 13:00 How to Get There Sun Street is just outside the city centre, and is easily accessible by A4124 from the Inner Ring Road. It is approximately five minutes walk from the mainline High Level station, and is accessible via the subway leading to the old Low Level station.************* BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Wolverhampton High Level is a major station on the West Coast Main Line, so is easy to reach by train. It's also a National Express destination. ************* If using the Metro, exit at the Wolverhampton St. George's terminus, and head back along the route of the tram for about 100 yards, before crossing Bilston Street and passing in front of the County Court building into Pipers Row. Continue along Pipers Row, keeping the bus station on your right hand side, until you get to the far (northern) end. ************* From the bus station, head out across the Inner Ring Road bridge to the High Level station. ************* From stepping out of the main entrance hall of High Level, turn immediately right, and you will see a nice glass entranceway with "Subway" helpfully placed above the door. (Oddly enough, this is to the left of the main doors if you're approaching the station from the outside...) Go through this door, and head down the stairs, and go through the doors at the other end. Turn right and head in front of the Low Level station and Travel Inn. Follow the pathway in front of Low Level, and exit the car park. The pub is in front of you. ************* BY CAR: As usual, I would recommend heading in via A449 from the north, either by M54 J2, or M6 J13. This is dual carriageway all the way from A5 into the city centre, and is the best route, even when coming from the south via M6. For those coming via M5, don't be tempted by the A4123 from J2, unless you enjoy looking at traffic lights every 100 yards. If you've got a little more time, then I recommend A449 from M5 J6 via Kidderminster as a more interesting route in than via the motorway. Once you have reached the city centre, follow the Inner Ring Road around (don't worry if you get it wrong - it goes in a circle...) to Broad Street Junction with the A4124. Take A4124 signposted Brownhills and Wednesfield, and head under the railway lines. Immediately after going under the railway lines, go past the under-construction tower block and take the first right turn at traffic lights in front of the very large Royal Mail sorting office. This is Sun Street, and the pub is on the left just beyond the sorting office. NOTE: Do not attempt to take the right turn into Corn Hill from A454 Horseley Fields, as the road is currently closed. ************* POST CODE FOR SAT-NAVS: WV10 0DJ Who's coming?
