The B3371 is a short, but stunning blast across the top of Mendip from the B3135 near the top of Cheddar Gorge across to the B3134. The road was originally unclassified but gained its number in the late 1920s.

The road starts at a fork near the top of the gorge. The cliffs are all far behind, but the road hasn't yet quite climbed out of the winding valley onto the plateau. It takes almost a mile before we emerge onto the top, and find the crossroads at Yoxter with the unclassified road from Priddy to Charterhouse, which provides access to the popular picnic spot of Velvet Bottom - old lead workings - near Charterhouse. Indeed, the whole of the Mendip plateau is popular with picnickers and walkers. Returning to the B3371, it is then just over a mile to its terminus, again at a crossroads. The road ahead is unclassified, but drops steeply down into Compton Martin on the A368.
