The A1164 is described in a DfT Roads List as Local route in Hull - Ferensway (part) Carr Lane & Anlaby Road (part)
The most likely route for the road, therefore, is that the road started on the A63 opposite the City Hall. It then headed west along Carr Lane, which then turned into Anlaby Road. Near the station the road turned right along Ferensway (with the A1105 continuing along Anlaby Road) and headed north to end at the junction of Beverley Road and Prospect Street, which was the original route of the A1079 (a road that the A1164 may or may not have met on the City Square).
Following the upgrading of Ferensway in the 1980s the A1079 was diverted onto that, with the remainder of the former A1164 being declassified.
