The A18(M) was a link from M18 to A18 north of Doncaster. The motorway's eastbound carriageway is now M180 between M18 and Tudworth Roundabout at junction 1, whilst part of the westbound carriageway has been abandoned.
It was planned as Tudworth Hall Link Road and constructed by Sir Alfred McAlpine & Sons, who were given the £4.7m contract for the Thorne bypass in late August 1970. The motorway was constructed with an extra-wide central reservation for conversion to three lanes each way at a later date. The A18(M) opened in June 1972, at the same time as the connecting M18 Thorne bypass.
