Caernarfon Road Interchange is junction 10 of the A55.
Since its original construction, the junction has had an eastbound on-slip added, as well as roundabouts to facilitate turning movements - this was probably in the mid-1990s (order made 1994) and has facilitated development of commercial premises to the north of the interchange.
As originally built in 1983, as part of the Bangor bypass, it allowed only three turning movements: the two left turns off the then A5 (now A55) onto the A4087, and the right turn from the westbound A4087, through a gap in the central reservation of the locally dualled A4087, onto the A5.
The addition of the eastbound on-slip required the widening of the nearby bridge carrying the A5/A55 over Cytir Lane.
