In the original 1922 road numbering, the A6019 number was allocated to Angel Street in Sheffield city centre, making the road a short link between the A57 High Street and the A616 Bank Street.
When the A61 was rerouted along West Bar, the A-road going along Angel Street was extended north one block to meet it. However, owing to the short length of the road it is not known whether this was the A6019 or whether it had been renumbered in the interim. Certainly they had become the A621 by the 1960s.
The former A6019 is now unclassified and largely closed to traffic.
