The A6200 is basically the old route of the A52 from all points West - but mainly Derby - to Nottingham city centre.
The road starts at the underpass by the Queen's Medical Centre where the A52 TOTSOs from the Nottingham Ring Road, which becomes the A6514. The road passes alongside the QMC, and the eastern fringe of Wollaton, before crossing the River Leen (but you don't notice) and entering Lenton - the Rose and Crown, where the boundary is, is a popular student pub! The road passes a car dealership at a useful shortcut between the A6200 and the A609 before a signalled junction linking it with the A6005 and the centre of old Lenton. A railway bridge is next, before the road descends into Lenton proper by an expansive recreation ground. The A6130 is crossed at a signalled junction before the road ascends towards Nottingham on quite a steep gradient. At the top of the hill the road ends at Canning Circus where it meets the A609 and A610; the latter continues the very short journey to the city centre.
