The B1149 is a rural B-road to the north of Norwich.
At its northern end, the B1149 starts at a roundabout in Holt where it meets the A148 and B1110. It heads south through Edgefield and Saxthorpe, where a bypass has been built to avoid the village centre and the old bridge over the River Bure. It then continues as quite a straight road passing no other places of any size, although it does cross the B1145 at a roundabout, before reaching Horsford. The B1149 ends at a roundabout on the A140 just over a mile after the village.
Originally the B1149 continued for about another mile along what is now the A140. The original route of the road north of Norwich is now lost under the runway of Norwich Airport requiring a detour.
