The B1197 is a short cross-country road in Hertfordshire. The road was for many years the southern end of the A602 but had gained its present number by 1975.
Our road starts at a roundabout on the A1170 north of Hoddesdon town centre signposted to Hertford Heath. It heads west and soon goes under the A10 bypass.
The road soon reaches a 30 zone as it passes Haileybury College and then goes through Hertford Heath, after which the speed limit increases to 40mph. There's then a short run across fields to the A414 Hertford bypass where the road ends at a roundabout.
