The B1280 is a rural B-road in east Durham.
It starts at a Diamond interchange on the A19 as the westward continuation of the A179 from Hartlepool. It heads roughly northwestwards through Station Town (which no longer has a station) and then reaches Wingate, where it meets the pre-bypass A181 at a roundabout before meeting the current route of the A181 at a GSJ - an unusual one given that both roads are S2.
The B1280 continues north via the village of Shotton Colliery (the pit itself closed in the 1970s) and Haswell before ending on the A182 at South Hetton, just outside the Sunderland city boundary.
