The original B19 started on the A1 at Glen Vine and headed south, crossing the B17 at Braaid Crossroads. Continuing south, it passed through St Marks to reach Ballasalla, where it ended on the A5 in the middle of the small village. At some point before 1963, the whole route was renumbered as the A26.
The Manx Government Circular 1131 of 25/02/1926 defines this route as: Ballasalla to St. Marks thence to Ballaheg via the Braaid (Marown)
