The B289 is a short B-road connecting Epsom with its racecourse.
The B289 starts on the B284 on the southern edge of Epsom town centre. It heads south along Downs Road to the cemetery where it enters open country. Although it has been climbing for its entire route, the gradient now gets quite noticeable.
At the top of the hill the road becomes unfenced and soon a roundabout is reached where the B289 ends on the B290 opposite the main entrance to the racecourse grandstand.
