The B3149, today, follows part of the old A361 through the northern parts of Barnstaple. From the Pottington dual carriageway, the A361 TOTSOs onto the new Barnstaple Western bypass, whilst the B3149 continues stright on along Braunton Road. After traffic lights, the B3149 then continues along Rolle Street, crosses the River Yeo and meets a roundabout with the top end of Barnstaple High Street and North Walk. There is then a very short dual carriageway section before the B3149 terminates at another roundabout with the A39.
