The B40 starts at a TOTSO junction with the B33 at the western end of St Mary village and winds north west, running through a pretty wooded valley. At length it emerges at the coast at the popular sandy bay of Greve de Lecq. A large car park sits above the road as it doubles back inland, becoming the B65 as it does so.
