B4245 Langstone – Parkwall
This article is about the current B4245 east of Newport.
For the original B4245, now part of the A4042, see B4245 (Little Mill - Abergavenny)

Looking towards Langstone

The B4245 in Monmouthshire is a loop road running south off the A48 in Monmouthshire. The road was originally unclassified. It gained its number east of Magor in the late 1920s and its full length by 1932.

The road starts on the A48 immediately east of Langstone and heads southeastwards, initially residential but open country is quickly reached. After going through Llanmartin the road goes under the M4 and then runs parallel to pass a retail park and then intersect the A4810 Newport Eastern Distributor Road immediately south of M4 J23A. Before that road was inaugurated a short spur of the B4245 led to the motorway.

The road then runs through Magor before going back under the M4 and then running parallel to the M48 through Rogiet to Caldicot. Originally Newport Road and Chepstow Road were followed through town but we now follow a bypass, albeit one that runs through the suburbs. After rejoining the old road we go through an industrial estate and reenter open country, where a fairly straight run across the fields takes us to the end of the road at the Parkwall Roundabout back on the A48.
