The B48 is one of a group of very strange and very short B roads in Onchan. It follows the full length of Royal Avenue West and is one way northbound, complimenting the A35, which is one way southbound on the opposite side of the park. The B48 starts on the B57, Strathallan Road, at a west facing fork and curves round to head north between the park and a long, slightly curved terrace of brightly painted houses. The further end of the route is slightly confused. Royal Avenue West comes to an end on Royal Drive, which may or may nor be part of the B54. If it isn't, then the B48 curves round to the east and uses a few metres of Royal Drive to reach the A35.
