The B50 is a short, winding route through the scenic Silverdale Glen just to the north of Ballasalla. It starts on the A3 and heads east into a tunnel of trees as it dips slightly. A left hand bend brings it into the courtyard of the Silverdale Cafe and visitor facilities. The road continues ahead, past the car park, and then turns hard right between the buildings and over the narrow stone bridge. It then winds slowly up through the trees, occasionally wide enough for two cars to pass, until it reaches the outskirts of Ballasalla village. After passing a handful of houses, it ends at a T junction on the A34.
