For the current B5211 past the Trafford Centre, see B5211.
The B5211 was a short link road to the north of Warrington town centre.
The road started on the A49 Winwick Road and then headed east along Long Lane and then Orford Green past what was then the separate village of Orford. The road then headed south along Orford Road before ending on the then-A574 Padgate Lane.
The shifting of the A50 in 1935 from where the A5061 Knutsford Road now lies, North - through Orford, sliced away the Orford Road section of the B5211, as the A50 was routed up Orford Road and Poplars Avenue. However the Orford Green and Long Lane section remained, as a natural bypass of the town centre.
However, with the creation of the M62 and Stump Cross, the Poplars Avenue junction with the A49 was kneecapped to improve traffic flow, meaning for a usable A50, the route had to divert down Orford Green and Long Lane to the then Longford Roundabout. This marked the end of the B5211's presence in Warrington.
