The B5247 is a short link road in south Lancashire.
It starts at a roundabout on the A565 at Carr House, to the west of Bretherton. It heads east and, after passing the B5248, reaches Bretherton itself. The road heads east through the linear village before bending to the right and heading southwards.
After crossing the River Lostock the road goes over the Preston to Ormskirk railway line above Croston station. There is a mini-roundabout on the far side of the bridge; the B5249 heads left and the B5247 right.
The road continues south along Station Road through Croston before ending at a T-junction on the A581 in the centre of the village. This junction is on a sharp bend.
