The B6002 is a short link mainly within Sawley and Long Eaton in east Derbyshire, linking the original routes of the A453 and the A52.
The road starts at a roundabout on the B6540 by Long Eaton station and runs north up Wilsthorpe Road, negotiating a roundabout en route. It then meets the A6005 at another roundabout.
After the second roundabout, the B6002 runs up Petersham Road, at the top of which (next to the M1) it makes a ninety-degree turn right onto Longmoor Road. There's a mini-roundabout just afterwards, from where an unclassified road bears left to meet the A52 and M1 at J25.
From here the B6002 makes its way up Longmoor Road, negotiating another couple of roundabouts and passing under the modern A52 before ending on that road's pre-bypass route (today's B5010).
