The B607x routes all belong to a group running around or leading to and from Sheffield city centre, although the short B6072 is now defunct.
The road started on the A616 Duke Street; this junction was destroyed when the Park Square roundabout was built. It then headed east up Broad Street and Cricket Inn Road to end on the B6071 Bernard Road/Bernard Street.
With the construction of the Sheffield Parkway the B6072 continued along Cricket Inn Road and Manor Way to join that road at its then-westernmost end; this section was downgraded again when the Parkway was extended into the city centre. The B6072 has now been declassified completely.
