The B6108 is a short road heading into Huddersfield from the moors to the southwest.
The road starts on the B6107 in the centre of Meltham and heads east along Huddersfield Road, already showing its final destination. As the road goes through town it descends, before crossing a stream to enter open country.
The road continues northeastwards on the northern side of the valley. It then zigzags to the left to skirt the village of South Crosland. Castle Hill and its tower are clearly visible ahead.
The B6108 goes through Netherton before meeting the B6110 at Armitage Bridge. Here the road bears to the left and appears rural again as it goes through Woodfield Park. However, the road is basically running through the suburbs of Huddersfield. It goes under a railway viaduct before the houses close in and the road ends at a traffic-light-controlled crossroads on the A616, where that road has to TOTSO. The town centre is straight ahead.
The Wessenden Head Road, that extends westwards from the end of the B6108 in Meltham to meet the A635, is signed as such from the Meltham end but there is no evidence from mapping sources that this stretch was ever part of that route number.
