The B641 was the A6003 heading south from the centre of Oakham before that road was diverted onto the bypass.
At a mini-roundabout on Catmos Street by Rutland County Council offices the B640 (former A606) turns off and the B641 continues south along Catmos Street. We pass the County Museum and leave town along Uppingham Road. After crossing Swooning Bridge we enter open country and continue on along a straight road, presently bearing left to end at a T-junction on the current line of the A6003.
