The Ballengeich is a fairly recent addition to Stirling's road network, and has led to a rather confusing situation. Originally this was just a simple junction on the B8051 Stirling Ring Road. Then the A84 was diverted away from Raploch to this junction, and it would now appear that the A811 has been diverted from Kings Knot Roundabout to the south to terminate here, although at present mapping and signage are not fully agreeing on this in all places!
