Braehead Junction, junction 25A of the M8, is a relatively recent addition to the motorway, using former railway bridges under the M8 and A8. It provides a direct route from the M8 into the Braehead Shopping Centre and retail parks from the east, with traffic to/from the west still using Junction 26, Hillington Interchange. The Braehead slips are over half a mile long, and extend to a signalised crossroads where straight on leads directly into the car parks for the shopping centre, so cutting out 2 roundabout and at least one set of lights from the less direct route from J26.
