Cheshire is a traditional county in North West England.
Most non-trunk roads within the traditional county are maintained by the Unitary Authorities of Cheshire West & Chester, Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington, and the Metropolitan Boroughs of Stockport, Wirral, Trafford, Manchester and Tameside. A small part of the extreme north-east of the traditional county is administered by Derbyshire County Council.
