Comar Bridge crosses the River Glass near Cannich, carrying the A831 on an S2 road way with pavement either side protected by metal railings in place of parapets, although as the road continues west towards the village it has no footways and quickly narrows to single track. The bridge has a concrete deck supported on steel beams of a common 1970s/80s design. There are two spans to cross the river, with a central pier sited in the riverbed.
There has been a bridge here for over a century, but surprisingly little information is readily available about the predecessor to the current crossing. It can be presumed that the original bridge here was a stone arched structure, almost certainly with several spans putting more than one pier in the river. As the Glass drains a large basin, it can rise dramatically when in spate, which perhaps caused the old bridge to be damaged or washed out at some point in the past.
