Description:View of the Berrygrove junction 5 of the M1, with the A41, in August 1965, looking north. This was when the M1 was extended from its initial southern terminus into London, from Hertfordshire. The original Berrygrove roundabout can be seen, with the former M1, then only two lanes wide. The junction now attaches to the A4008 dual carriageway to the west, which was not built at the time in 1965. Very few motorways had been built in 1965. The view is from south of the junction, with an aerial view above what is now the B462 roundabout with the A41. Taken from The Times newspaper.
