The sign is somewhat suspect, given that despite the roadworks, just continuing along the A38 would have been a faster way to reach the signposted destinations (the A38(M) and the M6); the roadworks in question affected several junctions on the A38 but not the straight path. Nonetheless, it serves as an example of the A4029 being used as a diversionary route.
