Frodingham Grange was junction 1 of the M181. It opened in 1978, though the A1077 to the north did not open (as the B1216) until around 1981.
In 2020, a new roundabout was constructed on the main line of the M181 to the south - as a result, the section of M181 between the new roundabout and Frodingham Grange was given the new number A1077(M) upon opening of the new roundabout in 2021.
