A855 enters Portree

Flag sign on the A855 with its junction with the road over the Quiraing to Uig.

The A855 on the North end of the Trotternish peninsula of Skye.

Mealt Waterfall The outflow burn from Loch Mealt seen dropping down its 60m waterfall to the sea. The causeway that divides the loch in two carries the A855 Portree to Staffin road. Beyond the loch are the cloud topped hills of the Trotternish Ridge.

Old bridge over the Stenscholl River As the Kilmartin River,see 1034764 passes beneath the bridge, it suddenly becomes the Stenscholl River.

Kilmaluag River Here, the river is a mill lade. The site of the mill is now occupied by the modern cottage beside the bridge. The mill was dismantled in about 1935. The bridge carries the single track A855 road.
