A5121 Branston, Burton on Trent
This section is being dualled and the roundabout will become a set of traffic lights
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 08, 2008 by Truvelo1938 plan for a western bypass of Burton upon Trent. Orders were made for this road which was never built, most likely due to the war.
Lighting columns along the A38 just outside Burton. One of them has a strange bracket where one arm is longer than the other. This is probably due to the carriageway on one side being wider than the other. The lanterns are Urbis ZX3s which were installed in 2005, where as the columns and brackets are a lot older.
At one of the roundabout junctions just as you come off the A38 for Burton. This older street light has a twisted bracket which is not facing over the road. The lantern is a Philips MA50, but whether it was the original for this column is unknown.
Along the A511 in Burton. A few older concrete columns with sleeved brackets. The lanterns are Philips MA50s.
Along Belvedere Rd in Burton, just outside Queens Hospital. 8m steel columns with Urbis ZX1s. Looks as if these have been here since the 1990s.
The plaque commemorating the opening of St Peter's Bridge at Burton-upon-Trent on 14 November 1985. It is visible from the pedestrian Ferry Bridge as it passes underneath St Peter's Bridge.
10m concrete column with a twin bracket and Philips SGS203s in the foreground, and 12m steel columns with deep bowled and dark coloured Urbis ZX2s. This is at an island on the A511, just outside Burton.
