This is one of three possible GSJ's, the other two have flaring ready for a flyover and underpass which can be seen at the bottom of the picture but I doubt they'll ever be built. About a mile in the distance the road becomes an S2 and then it enters a village with a 20mph limit and speed bumps.

The bit I have just done was bypassed in May 77, when the final stretch to J31 opened, ending Exeter's famous part in road history.

This sign is interesting because you can just see on the right where the 'no right turn' sign has been covered over with green transfers, to coincide with the closing of the gap at Top Lane junction.
