Grade-separated junction for the R183.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 19, 2009 by csdA funny junction, there's a sharp left hander right at the start of the slip (which is very long and has wire rope barrier separating it from the mainline, ths preventing local traffic from directly acessing the mainline, but instead forcing it along the slip to J4 proper.

Note the New Jersey barrier down the central reservation.

There wasn't a cloud in the sky! This is looking northbound towards Dublin. This was the first rural dual cariageway in the Republic of Ireland, built in the 60s/70s and by the time of the upgrade, it really showed! This section is in county Kildare with the county Dublin border neing just at the crest of the hill. The two county councils used to test road markings and pavements there.
